Many believers pray daily for their families, needs, health, and decisions. But intercession is different. Intercessory prayer goes beyond personal requests—it is partnering with God’s will on behalf of others.
In this episode of Devoted to Prayer, we explore what intercession truly is and why it carries spiritual responsibility. Scripture shows us powerful examples of believers who stood in the gap. Abraham interceded for Sodom (Genesis 18:22–33), Moses stood between judgment and Israel (Exodus 32:11–14), and ultimately Jesus Christ continues to intercede for us today (Hebrews 7:25).
We also learn how the Holy Spirit helps us in prayer when we feel weak or unsure what to say (Romans 8:26–27).
Intercession is not about controlling outcomes or speaking religious words. It is aligning with God’s heart and asking for His mercy, restoration, and intervention.
Together we will examine the heart of an intercessor—compassion, obedience, discernment, endurance, and humility—and understand why God still searches for people willing to stand in the gap (Ezekiel 22:30).
